Communities in Schools (CIS)

Communities In Schools (CIS) is a campus-based program focused on helping students stay in school and achieve in life by addressing both academic and non-academic needs. At Ashford Elementary, CIS provides individualized support through counseling, small group sessions, and activities that strengthen students’ social and emotional skills. The program ensures students and families have access to critical resources, including basic needs and connections to mental health support when needed. CIS is a key part of the school community, partnering with teachers, staff, and local organizations to bring in targeted support that meets the unique challenges students face. Through strong collaboration, continuous planning, and tailored support, CIS becomes an essential part of the school’s foundation, helping every child feel seen, supported, and set up to thrive.
